France being the first wine producer in the world, this beverage is an integral part of its culture. The way that French culture is involved in wine elaboration gives it the international reputation of “country of the wine”.
The Rhône-Alpes region is famous for their various grape varieties. Discover the wealth of the wines of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region and the different jobs around wine through this circuit composed of a vineyard visit and seminars with an oenologist and at the University of Wine.
Domaine du coteau des coccinelles : The vineyard is located in the village of Lantigné, little wine-making village in the south of Bourgogne , at 3 kms from the historical capital of the Beaujolais : Beaujeu, between Mâcon and Lyon.
Little family cultivation, the owners have chosen to limit the cultivable land for care’s quality that they give to grapevines and wine. They insure the commercialization of their products, and favor direct sale and internet.
They are proud to be independent wine-growers, indicator of the complete control of their work: vinegrapes culture, creation of red wine and rosé wine in their own wine cellar and direct sell.
Average age of the grapevines ( more than 40 years old ) contribute to the elaboration of excellent quality of wine , in a small quantity .
Mrs and Mr Tournissoux invite you to discover they passion and their vineyard . They will take you to their plot to show you all the cares they give to grapevine, depending of the season.
You’ll stay two hours with them, and at the end of the visit, for legal persons, they offer you a degustation of their wine.
Nunc Est Bibendum is œnological event agency. Mr Turnell organize savoring classes ( 17 each month ) in Lyon and around. He, also leads different events linked to wine ( wine parties, thematic savoring and meals according food and wine). The appreciations are addressed to people, companies and any kind of institutions.
Proposal of seminar : Pedagogical and ludic initiation to wine savoring.
Half an hour of initiation about the delicate and fascinating art of oenological savoring.
The goal being to acquire a savoring methodology: how to proceed ? what are the good gestures ? what to see, smell and taste and deduce ?
After a theoretical part, you will do a practical part with 3 wines (1 white, 1 red and 1 sweet)
By the end of the savoring, a recapitulative book will be sent to you by e-mail.
University of Wine is located on the south of the Rhône-Alpes Region, in the Castle of Suze La Rousse, ownership of Drôme department . It’s a vocational training structure , dedicated to the knowledge and wine culture, created in 1978 with the support of winemaker organizations, territorial organizations and academics.
All employees of companies, salesmen, free-lance consultants, French or foreigners, could find at the university of wine, training resources and information about the wine and jobs of this large domain.
Their equipment: laboratory for sensorial analyze, library with more than eight thousand books and students thesis, oenological library including hundreds of French and overseas products reference make of it a unique and dedicated place for the knowledge of grapevine, wine and other quality products.
